Central Western Firemen’s Association February Business Meeting February 26, 2009 Vandalia Station # 2
President A J Monnin called meeting to order. President Monnin led pledge of Allegiance. Welcome and thank you to Vandalia Fire and to Mike Krimm and his wife for the great refreshments.
OLD BUSINESS- Apparatus Judging Past President Bill Westfall made a motion to eliminate all classes of truck judging, due to the lack of participation., and to only have two classes for all trucks at the Conference. The two classes would by Best Maintained and Best Maintained Antique.
Much discussion on this matter cost of Trophies to sponsoring host. Motion 2nd by Skip Eskins... Motion passed. This will be on a trial bases.
Paraded Should we have a parade or not? Much discussion. It will be left to the Host department to make the decision to have or not. Motion by Bill Westfall 2nd Ryan Dennison Motion Passed
CONFERENCE Tim Reser stated the Greenville Twp. would be helping CWFA Past Presidents with the Conference this year. We had some expenses the first year but the cost should be less. Fair Grounds will $150.00, Greenville Twp Chief Chris Greer will see if he can get this waived if not Tim Reser will pay it. Much discussion on the Conference how we need more participation.
COMMITTEES
Apparatus Audit-Books were audited by Rod Patty, John needs to be thanked for job well done. Bowling-March 20-21, 2009 New Bremen Charity Fund- Conference Squad-Joni Reser would like to be removed from all committees due to job. Strong Arm- Greenville Fire will see that all equipment is there also will have sled instead of tire. Yearbook- Same prices as last year Fund Raiser- Will be calling a meeting Trailer CWFA trailer is being hind Station #2, is lettered, and looks very good. Ball hitch width for the trailer is 2 5/16”and we do not have a receiver. Motion by Shawn Brandenburg to purchase a receiver, ball, and pin. 2nd Eric Cook Motion passed. Hose Cart Fire School- We will be doing something. Nominations- need to give to John Sands. Queens- Are working on it. Tallying- Const. & By Laws-Will be have a meeting. Credentials- Hose Line- A lot of participation last year. Drafting- Need Judges Hose Evolution- Gear Downing- Waterball- Still needs Pulleys. Bucked Brigade-
