               NAEMT Military Relations Committee

"EMS GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS "

By: Erskine, Timothy
Below is a message from NAEMT for EMS personnel deploying with the military, as well as for their employers.

Last year, NAEMT established a Military Relations Committee to identify ways to support military medics and EMS practitioners serving as active duty or reservists within a branch of the U.S. Armed services, or who are veterans. One of the goals of the committee is to help medics and EMS practitioners transition back to civilian service at the end of their deployment. Each of the members of the committee currently serves in one of the branches of our nation’s Armed Services.

One of the challenges faced by EMS practitioners when they are deployed is preparing themselves, their families, and their employers for their deployment. In response to this challenge, the committee has developed resources to help guide EMS practitioners through the deployment process, and help EMS managers support their employees through their deployment and after their return to civilian life.

Here are the links to these two resources:

This effort will help ensure that those who most need these resources will receive them. It will also help to reinforce the EMS community’s gratitude and appreciation for all that our EMS practitioners serving in the military do for our nation.
