Ohio Fire Academy Jobs
The State Fire Marshal's Office has announced that the Ohio
Fire Academy has multiple openings for Intermittent EMS
Instructors and for Intermittent Fire Instructor for
Structural Collapse Courses.
For EMS Instructor:
This is a Part-time position scheduled as needed
18 positions availableat the OFA
Instructs and evaluates basic, advanced and specialized EMS
training and related programs; operates EMS equipment and
apparatus; operates audio-visual equipment; ensures student
safety in classroom and on training grounds; counsels
students; conducts skill testing (National Registry).
Reviews, analyzes and evaluates EMS training programs,
methods, materials and equipment; make recommendations to
improve lesson plans; assists in setting up resident
programs; provide input for new course development and
updates for current courses.
Consults with fire service persons and others relative to
training programs, equipment, and fire department
operations.
Performs related duties as required.

For Fire Instructor:
This is a Part-time position scheduled as needed
20 Positions available, 5 in each of the following
regions:
Cincinnati/Dayton Region
Cleveland/Akron Region
Toledo/Sandusky Region
Columbus Region
Instructs and evaluates technical rescue classes (i.e.,
Rope Rescue, Confine Space, Trench Rescue, Structural
Rescue, Vehicle & Machinery Rescue, Surface Water
Rescue, and Swift Water Rescue). Operates firefighting
apparatus and rescue equipment; Operates audio-visual
equipment; Ensures student safety in classroom and during
hands-on training grounds; Counsels students; Conducts
skill testing (i.e., IFSAC accreditation).
Reviews, analyzes and evaluates fire rescue training
programs, methods, materials and equipment to ensure
compliance with current NFPA Technical Rescue standards.
Make recommendations to improve lesson plans; assists in
setting up resident programs; provide input for new course
development and updates for current courses.
Consults with fire service persons and others relative to
training programs, equipment, and fire department
operations.
Performs related duties as required.
