Two new Trauma Centers
"Under Ohio’s provisional trauma center laws."
By: EMS GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
We are pleased to announce that two hospitals are beginning to
operate as trauma centers under Ohio’s provisional trauma
center laws.
- Northside Medical Center in Youngstown is operating as a
Level 3 Trauma Center.
- On November 15 at 0800, Kettering Medical Center in Kettering
will begin operating as a Level 2 Trauma Center.
This means that Northside Medical Center and Kettering Medical
Center are appropriate destinations for trauma victims.
Provisional trauma center status is the first step in receiving
trauma center verification from the American College of
Surgeons and demonstrates the hospital’s commitment to
providing quality trauma care.
If you have any questions about this, please contact Tim
Erskine, Chief of Trauma Systems and Research, at 614-387-1951
or terskine@dps.state.oh.us.
